A Night With Neil Diamond at Alexa Park LV
ROB GARRETT’S “King of Diamonds Neil Diamond Tribute” Vegas residency show CONTINUES ON in the “MODERN SHOWROOMS” at Alexis Park Las Vegas Hotel.
Music icon Neil Diamond is one of the most successful and beloved singer/songwriters in rock and pop music history.
Besides being one of the biggest selling and record-breaking touring artists ever, he’s also composed the songs of a generation — including some of the most recognized songs website on the planet.
In early 2018, shortly before his 77th year, Neil Diamond retired from touring after being diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease.
However, Diamond’s live performance legacy continues to be celebrated for audiences across the globe through longtime Las Vegas performer Rob Garrett, known as America’s premier Neil Diamond tribute performer.
Ask Siri “who is the best Neil Diamond tribute artist,” and you’ll get the same answer.
Like his musical hero, Rob Garrett was born in Brooklyn, NY.
In May 1974, his parents brought him from New York City to Las Vegas, where, two years later, he witnessed his first Neil Diamond concert when Diamond made his attendance-breaking Las Vegas debut at the Aladdin Theater for the Performing Arts (now “PH Live”) in July 1976.
Garrett went on to see him 16 more times across the country—right up until Diamond’s final U.S. concert at the Los Angeles Forum on August 12, 2017.
In 1980, Garrett created his own band, “Rock n Roll Heaven,” and enjoyed a long and successful run in Las Vegas and across the nation before transitioning from lead singer of a cover band to a tribute artist dedicated to one of his boyhood inspirations.
In 1995, Garrett was hand-picked by Paul Revere, leader of “The Raiders” to portray Neil Diamond in the “Legends in Concert” show in Honolulu, Hawaii.
What was meant to be a three-month trial turned into a long-term hit show.
By August 1998, Garrett returned home to Las Vegas and continued to perform with “Legends” for another couple of years before deciding to create his own tribute production.
He began a busy tour circuit, building a large and loyal following along the way—earning the title “King of Diamonds Neil Diamond Tribute.”
He continues to draw packed houses nationwide, often in venues reserved for national acts.
Garrett has also earned several honors, including “Male Tribute Artist of the Year.”
“Since he (Diamond) announced his retirement, I’ve felt a strong sense of responsibility to keep his legacy alive for future generations. It’s something I never get tired of doing,” he said.
On May 19, 2025 officially proclaimed the date “Rob Garrett Day,” commemorating Rob’s 50 years as a Las Vegas resident and 44 years as a professional Vegas performer.
Now in the year 2025, Garrett celebrates 45 years as an active Las Vegas entertainer, with the last 30 years devoted solely to paying tribute to the now-retired Neil Diamond.
It has been said that no other tribute artist is so closely identified with the original performer as Garrett, who has played in more Vegas rooms than any peer.
Since the June closing of “A Beautiful Noise” (the Broadway jukebox musical based on Diamond’s life story), Rob Garrett’s “King of Diamonds” show has become the only active Neil Diamond tribute production in America.
The Alexis Park Resort is located at 375 E. Harmon Ave., near the Las Vegas Strip.
